    Persia then began to extend it's grasp into Europe, first by marching on the Cheronese.

    The ruler of the Cheronese, an Athenian by the name of Miltiades, up and left with his son and his fortune.

    The son was captured, but Darius was merciful.

    Give him a house and a wife!

    Darius now set upon taking his revenge on Athens on Eritria

    Mardonius, because I trust you (and you're a little creepy) I am putting you in charge of conqeuring Athens and Eritria. But free free to get anyone else along the way.

    Do I have to leave survivors this time?

    Mardonius blazed a trail of conquest across the Balkans, taking isolated Greek states and capturing macedonia. Meanwhile his fleet made it's away to Eritria and Athens.

    Due to the losses from the sea monsters and the ambush by the Brygi tribe, Greece was safe for the next 12 years.

    Oops, got my dates wrong. It was two years until the first invasion and 12 until the second one (the one where the Spartans stole the show)
