    To escape the Wrath of Persia, Histiaeus flees to Chios

    You're under arrest, Persian spy!

    Histiaeus then sent Hermippus to Sardis with letters asking certain persians to join the revolt

    Now what ever you do Hermy, the letters must NOT go to Artaphernes.

    Deliver the letters, but then return their answers to me.

    Soon after...

    IT'S A TRAP!!!

    After this failure, Histiaeus returned home to the city of Miletus, but was thrown out. In desperation he returns to Chios.
