Expand1. Make a planet. I make a simple planet by using a simple colored circle as base and then adding shading. This example below shows layers of shading before blur. This is how i usually make shading on an orb, but there are many other ways, find the one you like best!!
2. Make rings. I do it like this. I take two circles and stretch them. I place them on top of each other, as shown above. I then use the masking tool to get an uncomplete ring as shown below (click on the outer circle, then on mask, then on the inner circle). This can be quite tricky, but the result is quite nice! Note: Make sure that both of your circles are a solid color before masking!
