A Very Special Dinner Guest

    The was a woman who had a little girl about six years of age who was causing her trouble.

    She would wander around the neighborhood with children that did not know the Lord.

    They were teaching her bad habits.

    She would return home and be saucy to her mother.

    The mother's heart was just about breaking...

    I wonder if maybe setting a place at the table for Jesus today would help my little girl to be less saucy.

    We are going to set the table now. And we are going to set a place for Jesus.

    And we are going to put on the prettiest plate, glass and set up a chair.

    Mommy, will Jesus really be here?

    Yes, Jesus will be right in this room.

    But will Jesus be right in that chair, Mommy?

    Jesus will be with us just as though we could see Him in that chair.

    Now we are going to ask Jesus to bless the food.

    Mommy, you think you're so smart, don't you??

    ....Jesus, I don't think that was nice. Do you?

    Now, Mommy, you know I really didn't mean that.

    Now Mommy, I really didn't mean that.
