Yes, this is how I made clouds on some of my old strips... With mixed white and black ASCII characters in blurred textboxes. Lot of textboxes over each other. This was a little secret of mine...
This strip is a reply to The Stripbusters - We are back, The cursed bird, Not so scary anymore :-), Look! It's A..., Utilazation of Text (Experiment), A foggy day, Distant Dreams, No BBQ?
So making realistic-look clouds is easy. Or at least You do not need any artistic talent for it. You only have a good picture-to-ascii converter program and some patience.
