Description
Thank you S.G community for your letters of support and concern. My family and I are safe and everyone I know is fine. I live a little north of Tokyo and I can honestly say it was a decent shake but nothing compared to the shake further north. Tokyo came through the shake 99.9% unscathed.
This strip is a reply to Japan's Last Autumn Leaf, You're gonna reap just what you sow, Nanchaku Practise, Japan, Pray for Japan, Always on my mind, KAMIKAZE (Divine Wind), True heroes!, Nuclear: Un-extinguishable, japan, Nuclear: Haiku, The New Japanese Flag, Tragedy, Nuclear: Radiation, Fukushima, A Letter To...
My heart goes out to those further north; caught in the mother of all tsunamis where whole villages were wiped off the face of the planet.
I've really struggled over the last few days on a strip and have stopped and started several times. In the end I went for a bit of humor, as it was humor here on S.G that lightened the tension and depression that threatened to encompass me.
I want everyone to know that the situation at the nuclear power plants is no laughing matter and is very serious, but reports in foreign media and those in the Japanese media often differ and in some cases differ significantly.
I am back at work here in Tokyo and all of my Japanese colleagues are working and acting as if the earthquake had happened in another country instead of just 300 km north of where we stand. I doubt very much that that would be the case if the nuclear plants were in any danger of a full meltdown.
Once again thanks to everyone for your support and humor during this tragic time...
