Sadly Accurate
  • Description

If you've ever had the misfortune of attending a conference for you job, you know just how accurate this really is.

Case in point, I had to go to one Wednesday. The keynote speaker kept insisting that Shanghai was a country in China. Word for word, he said it 6 times.

I spent a good twenty minutes trying to set him on fire with my mind. It didn't work...

Ok guys, now that we've had a brief overview of our week long agenda, let's have a nice team building excercise where we can all get to know each other!

And now, a quick look at what the Leadership Conference For Change has been doing for the last week or so.

    Day 1

After that we'll have a quick snack break, and then a breakout session where we can get to know each other!

    Day 3

Well, that was certainly an enlightening presentation. I'm glad we've gotten to know each other so well!

As you can see, we're a very diverse group. And now, we'll have a guest speaker to show us just how important diversity is, and in the process we'll learn how diverse we are, even in this room! Afterwards, we'll get to know each other and ourselves even better! And then we'll break for lunch.

    Day 5

Ok then! Now that we've been given some great tools to work with, I'd like us to get into our breakout groups and talk a little bit about what we think should be changed in this town. Now that we've been trained how to understand each other here in the room, I'm sure we can relate to the people who live here, who we aren't consulting at all about this because they haven't been trained to think like us.

Before we do that, I'd like to make a completely empty point that consists of nothing but buzzwords in attempt to prove how smart I am.

    That's a good idea!

    I hadn't thought of that!

Great work everybody! I think we've realy come up with a nice framework we can plug our ideas into!

    Day 7ish

And now as a special reward, some of the local residents have provided us with some homemade desserts!

Should we spring the trap now, or wait until the others get here?

I can wait, but I'm saving the brick pie for the smarmy bastard in the center.

Good because if he doesn't shut up I'm going to try and set him on fire with my mind.

You should try for at least 42 minutes. Or use a Molotov cocktail.

Yeah, no matter how hard you concentrate they never start on fire. The boredom levels should be illegal!

@Horatius- I think you just found a way to make a conference even scarier.

@ Blue-As a rule, I think we should try and get the word "Paradigm" removed from the English language.
  • bluesockmonkey 18.2.2011
yes! smack the smarmy guy--i hate people who talk about holistic synergistic paradigms....

"you know just how accurate this really is".

Actually, I think having the two guys on the left (presumably) engaging in fellatio all week might make things more interesting.

    I'm just sayin'.
