This is just my way of doing it. I hope you can use some of the techniques.
This strip is a reply to Sunrise, Break Free, Sunset, Tutorial - Custom characters, Fading sky - tutorial, With a little thankyou to 35sheep!Transcript
ExpandSunset tutorial Start by placing a 50% red and a 80% black on top of a solid blue.
This is your basic sky and water Now place on your sky:
1) A large 30% red oval with 50 blur
2) 4 or 5 20% blue rectangles with 50 blur and
3) A 30% black rectangle
I've shown it WITHOUT blur, to make it clearer what goes on The sun consist of 3 circles on top of each other:
1) A 100% red 50 blur
2) A 100% white 20 blur and
3) A 100% white, no blur
Again: I've shown it WITHOUT blur, to make it clearer what goes on The reflection consist of:
1) Two 100% red rectangles that are first grouped, the blurred around 30 and
2) A 80% white rectangle 5 blur Finally make a 100% black foreground, and voila!
Please note, that this is just one way (mine) of doing it. There are several exceptional examples here on SG!
