In case you're wondering, I've dabbled with some Oblivion and played Diablo a little too much so now, I must explain Noonie's obsession with having an altar to Chthulhu in her home and the dark tentacle gods.

Chthulic Order of the
Nine Tentacles The Chthulic Order of the Nine Tentacles is one of many Chthulic splinter groups that derive their origins from Chthulic worship. One of many dangerous heretic cults in the empires, they denounce heaven and all other gods but the nine dark tentacle gods, of which Chthulu is seen as the father of the eight lesser tentacle gods.

Their worship of the dark ones is direct demonic worship, and believe their reward will be to become dark demonic agents in Hell that will form an army to restore the throne of the Nine. They believe each tentacle has a gate to a circle in hell, eight of which are sealed and one that is open to allow the passing in of any tentacle monster and any humans faithful to killing, darkness and lust.
