  • Description

I planted a cool plant in my yard the other day, and my dog doesn't like it at all. She is fine with trees and the common bush, so I think it's interesting that she barks at this one. I'm excited for her to get used to looking at it because at 6 in the morning when I take her out, the barking is pretty annoying. "not until I have my coffee, dog. PLEASE!"

My dog used to bark at sticks and rocks just out of her reach...and the toilet bowl. I have no idea what they are thinking sometimes. Sometimes I think I really do not want to know.

That’s an odd looking plant you got there. I like how you made the dog’s features and expression look so humanistic in the first panel. I thought it was interesting how you made time pass in this strip by placing the dog in different spots in each frame. It also kind of looks like the dog is sniffing the plant in the second panel. By making her sound human, the reader can get an idea of what is going through her mind. Cute strip!

I like the subtle use of color here. I also like the way that you made your dogs displeasure really obvious in the first panel. Thats crazy that you dog doesn't like a plant but I can relate, my dog freaks out about anything that changes. He wouldn't come onto my parents back porch once because there was a pair of boots on the porch that hadn't been there before.

That is funny. What kind of dog do you have? It does kind of look like a volcano. I saw another students posting so I had to check the strip out. Does your dog try to attack it, is it scared of it or does it pee on it? lol.

Dogs are so freaking weird. I think the subtle touches make this work. By this I refer primarily to the light blue airbrush over the treetop. I also like the added expression on the dog.

Haha, it does look like a volcano- I was trying to create it like my dog sees it: Big, odd, and a threat.

The use of perspective in the first frame is pretty cool. Having your dog in the fore frame and the plant (at first I thought it was a volcano) in the distance helps to establish a separation between the two. Your dog clearly is not having it. I really like her parting "...ruff". I feel like she really got the last word in on that one.
