    the angle of my monitor plus the amount of light in the room strongly affects the color tones...and nothing ever looks the same after i push "Publish"...

    Yes, some TFT monitors change the colours of the screen depending on the angle of your look.
    In mine, if I look from below, I see the light blue as saturated blue and the brown as black, and if I look from above, I see the white as grey and the light blue as white
