    First, select two objects you want. Place the object you want to cut into under the shape you want the hole. Click the bottom object, click the masking icon, and click the top object. And you have a hole! Have fun!

    strange, now masking works in reverse? instead of coloring the little object it cuts a hole in the big object? hmmm...
