Meet: Subject 12-57
This strip is a reply to The Group of Evil Singles Club
He was born for the sole purpose to be an experimental subject for Super Soldier Experiment #12 for the US government. Early off, all test subjects either shown no abilities or died off. Soon, Subject 12-57, started to show an apt for quickly learning and applying what he learned, be it fighting or history. As time went on, another trait was being shown: as days went on, Subject 12-57's eyes were changing colors and even being different colors in each eyes. But there's one more important thing noticed when he was 8. Shortly after his 8th birthday, Subject 12-57 cut himself on a piece of glass. While this wound would usually take several days to fully healed, the wound healed in only an hour.
Subject 12-57 was the only test subject to show this ability while all other showed no known abilities. This is when horrible experiments started on Subject 12-57. They tested the extent of his regenerative abilties. It started with small cuts, but it quickly turned to dismemberment. While each time he easily healed or grew back the dismembered part, it was soon deduced that if his brain was destroyed completely, this would cease and he would indeed die. There was an unknown side-effect to this rapid healing ability though. As the cells multiplied at an excessive rate, this caused tumors to grow in 12-57's body. The only way the scientists could stop this was if they injected him with a shot to stop the cell multiplication for a short time.
Subject 12-57 continued to be taught how to kill and quickly mastered all types of guns and was a master in several forms of martial arts. His intellectual studies were quickly becoming neglected, but 12-57 had found a love in books and wanted to continue his studies. His rights to even read such books were taken away soon enough. This, mixed with his constant torture to test his regenerative abilities, made him snap when he was 16. He slaughtered and busted himself out of the lab: sparring no one, even if they had done nothing to him. He has now taken up to use his abilities as a mercenary and doing any job as long as it pays well.
Subject 12-57 has no sense of morals, loyality, or justice and is prone to, at times, fits of rage and insanity. The only thing he enjoys, besides killing, is still reading, but it takes a back seat in his moments of insanity.
Anyone that crosses his path better hope that he's in a good mood.
