Streetin--thx!! i hadn't figured that trick out yet

You can also put another cat (or whatever) overtop and decrease it's opacity to make the original details...

Flash: see my strip "Masking Tutorial" for instructions on how to use

    Hows it work

I'm glad it works for you!

bsm, i don't think there is a way to do what you just said, i tried it...masking is nice for changing colors...but it isn't a freehand drawing tool like it was in 1.04. both would be great...

Horatius, i can't figure out how to use a mask smaller than the object being masked either (except when it's touching an edge of the object)...but there must be a way????
  • NooniePuuBunny 28.1.2010
sweet! I'm gonna try it later!!!
  • Horatius 28.1.2010
I'm still trying to figure out how to mask out the center of an object, though. That's something that I'd like to be able to do, and so far I haven't got it to work.

I tried to do a tutorial last night, but it wouldn't save.

You use one shape as a "cookie cutter" on the other. Place the cookie cutter on top of the other shape, then select the other shape. Click the "Mask" button, and a little message will pop up asking you to choose an object to use as mask. When that happens, click the cookie cutter shape, and it cuts away everything except the parts of the other object that underlie the cookie cutter.

Well you're doing better than me. I haven't been able to figure out how to use it all? How about a tutorial?
  • bluesockmonkey 28.1.2010
