C81--my unfunny point is simple: we often refrain from farting in public because it's embarrassing--we don't want to offend people with smelly stuff that we produce. Smokers often forget that they do the same thing. It's the Harm prinicple--we have to the right to do anything we want as long as it does not harm others who have not consented to the harm. Nonsmokers most often do not consent to having what amounts to having their faces farted on!
