The Tyger-Abridged
  • Description

    by William Blake.
Originally when I posted this I omitted the fact that the tiger in this cartoon was my take on a design by cirkuz.
cirkuz is one of the guys who was already a god around here when I first started. I urge you to check out the phenomenal work in his gallery...

This strip is a reply to To Walt Kelly...

Howdy, Owl! Who 's coming, yonder?!

Why, tis none other than our fine furry pal, good
    o' Poog Possum,
probably here to in-vite us to LUNCH!

Shesh up, Churchkey! You're going to blow our chance for free samitches!

Judging from the hunk he just bit out of you, I would say he's planning lunch right 'chere!

And this is why you should never mix
    real and anthropomorphic animals.

    Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
    In the forests of the night;
    What immortal hand or eye,
    Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

When the stars threw down their spears
And water'd heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

    Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
    What immortal hand or eye,
    Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
