Attention:
As you can see, we worked hard, very hard to deliver the new version of Stripgenerator™ - 1.5. Even though it is publicly open, we expect to see some bugs that we could not fore-see. Therefore, please treat the current version as something that is not perfect, and help us polish it by posting bug reports and annoyances. And expect numerous updates in the following 14 days. At least.
Please, use this forum post to report bug and annoyances only. But before you do that, try to read all the already submitted reports to make sure you do not duplicate the report.
At the same time, when reporting a problem, include your operating system information, browser version information and flash version info. This will speed up the bug-fixing procedure drastically.

as we said, there is still some work that needs to be done. Hopefully the bugs will not stop you from being creative.
Horatius, yes, I have noticed that too. It seems that firefox new updates broke something in regard to flash stuff. We have been trying to fix it, but no luck yet.
3.6 is even worse.
I guess I get to wait till my regular computer is returned to see if it's just my computer... but I want to finish creating the comic I started now.
I can not add on library
I used to copy the HTML code to publish the strips on my blogger account. Is that feature gone?

Also when I try to save a custom item it saves it over 20 times in my library and then takes me about a half hour to delete them all.
My friends and I greatly enjoy strip generator, and hope that all problems will be resolved in the near future.

speed... as you can see, the engine is quite slow, specially on slower computers. We are working on this already and it will be a bit faster in the near future updates.
library: make sure (for now) that you do not try to group objects with text boxes.
red: it seems we have to put it back :)
I keep having the same strange issues in the Library also. 5 copies of everything in there. But others have already said that.
I noticed that I can only see one page of my strip gallery. When I click "next page" it does nothing. ANd the same happens when I try to see more pages of the bribed gallery.
But still, this is a fantastic update!!
- I have several strips now where all my comments are lost
- thumbs seemd wierd, some old negatives went positives, some negatives count as 0.
- Deactivated strips goes active now
- It seems that old views number imported to profile views, but what about strip views?
But those lost comments really hurts!
(I've found the box that turns off the snap-to-align feature and the box that stops the libraries from closing. )
Just a litle question: Where I can change de language of an strip?

Is there a feature to copy and entire frame? as it is i have to select all the shapes, group them, duplicate them, then move ot the next frame, then realign because move to next frame puts them offset.
some way to turn off or adjust the snap of the shapes would be nice.
options for fonts seems much more limited, no different fonts? and options for smaller fonts seem more limited then before.
and i know it has already be mentioned but i would desperatly love to see the undo button return.
- snapping can be turned off/on, you have a button there
- duplication of frames, we have to look into this

I have checked my and kennyreid strip. No text at all. Only the images has been imported and even on some strip all the comments are missing.
Also, the text problems aren't just on large amounts of text. I've experimented a bit, and it seems like more often than not it wants to swallow that last line of the box, regardless of size.
And please, please bring back the masking tool! :(
i really really miss red color and the plain black triangle. (i did finally figure out that the orange circle reverses to black)
Also, when i go to my own gallery and press the button for Next Page, i get "error on page" message and cannot see my old work.
i'm sure i'll love 1.5 more when i learn how to use it more effectively, especially all those guidelines.

There's way too much wasted space in the bubbles. Margins are over-spaced, and double-spacing makes more than a sentence of dialog impossible to fit.
Worse: when I published last night's strip (since deleted), the last line or two in each bubble was hidden, despite appearing correctly in the previews.
I REALLY don't like the new interface, too difficult to use compared to the old one, too spread out. What happened to the ability to completly copy one pane's contents to the next? The sliding-window 7 zoom function is unwieldy as well.
And what's the deal with the thumbnail preview? Not practical at all.
I may be just a bronze newbie, but I am unimpressed with the improvements, and feel it was actually much easier to use before.
Remember, they're still tweaking things, so there will still be improvements on things like the text box bugs. Once you get a feel for how to use the new creation interface, I think you'll see the potential here.

Sorry! Had to let out some frustration somewhere. I'm down to 5 seconds movement, then a 30 or more freeze.
Yeah, speed is the major issue of the current engine. And it will be improved. But before we decide which way to go with the code, we needed more people testing the existing engine, so we can collect more bug reports. Everything else will be much easier to fix.
in strip comments the blog url hard coded for username for example mine http://ambrosius77.stripgenerator.com but thats wrong because my blog url is http://perpetuum.stripgenerator.com
every text box the people have is 2 lines, i've added a third line with just the letter a at the end to get cut off at the bottom. This worked great in all but the first box which in the preview where i named the strip looked good but in the finished product not only displays the a at the end (did the enter get erased?) but also appears to have duplicated the text box somehow? not sure whats going on here.
I have spent the better part of an hour trying to perfect a character, but when I selected it I was unable to save it as a whole. Dragging it just results in a mismatch of the different items I used. Since I'm trying to create a storyline, having custom characters is key.
I sincerely hope this can be fixed soon.

Also, apparently using the zoom function while making your strip makes the text bug worse, so don't use zoom unless you really need to.
Ineed a help -with library cleaning, extrem.duplicity of one object!!!, the causation is probably slow net...

QUESTION: Will anything be wiped when the engine fix takes place? As in the Library stuff? It would be good to know that now so we don't make many new Library items. Let us know as soon as you can. Thanks for the fixes.
Also when i add something to my library it makes like 100 of them and wont let me delete them.
I am a bit scared to do comics and loose what I'd do... I'll wait a bit more, I think.

Also, with Firefox many keybord symbols (as "?", very important to create comics) it's impossible to use, and if I try to write one of the symbol over the "Numbers buttons" (!, ", $, %, /, ), ...) it appears another symbol, so i have to try unless it appears the right symbol i want... But "?" never appear ç_ç
That symbol problem is only with Firefox, on Explorer it doesn't appear, but i usually use Firefox...
Comment on the next version: I think there are many interesting new application, but Strip Generator loss a lot of immediacy. Some weeks ago, I can came online in the evening, and do a strip in 5-10 minutes with an idea i had nto daytime... Now, I have to spent a lot to make a strip, and is not only for this higher temporaly timing of loading: I have to scroll the strip to complete it, but in the past the strip is all into screen. A big loss of time now also to copy one frame to another.
I think best Strip Generator quality was immediacy, and if you loss immediacy, it is a huge loss.
Because Strip Generator is a very useful site to create comics in a very little time: personally is the only tool that permit me to have a daily strip from 4 years ago to today.
I know there are some people that make strip more visual and more complex (congratulations!) but it's not what i search fron Strip Generator.
Maybe you can put on site a "light" version, similar to the older version, maybe possible to reach from the home page just with one click, and a "much multifunctional version", like the attual version.
Just a hint, many websites application do this.
I think that all this "community and social network" stuff maybe distract from the comics, and now is less simple and easy to do a strip, and over all i repeat, less immediate.
After all this bad stuff, a very big thank you for this site for the last 4 years ^_^
- No full black cercle
- Pb with keybord with number, or ponctuation (! .)
- Strip not enough large : Width : 768 > 682 px
- No polices change
- No bolt or italic
- bigs pb with saving library (objects are not in the same place as the original)
- no duplicate a object or a group of object to an other frame
- no "all clear"
- no "thinking" bubble
- can't adjust the bubble with the text in.
And Why do you have put the menu in right of the strip and cut this one, obliging to use the down barre?

Has anybody else gotten this message? Now I cant comment on anybodys strip today! I didn't even comment that much today. Please raise the quota limits. I can understand wanting to protect against spamming but some of us like to comment on a lot of strips and have a lot of friends so we are going to get locked out.

Once it goes past 8 strip replies, it will only show the last 8 attached to that strip if you hit the "show all strip replies" link.
if you hit the link again, it duplicates the last four it showed of the 8.
:( I need to be able to see ALL the strip replies for my series.
Luckily, I've been keeping track of who gives me stuff so I replied to their replies with the comic and got a full list.

otherwise opacity works, but flash refuses to refresh the view. Try switching between object/frames.

I am experimenting to create Dust in sunlight effect with small particles, but this bug prevent it.
This time it seems stucked badly.
Blur, opacity etc not will be as on edit mode. Even worse that it seems like on one part of the published strip its ok but on other half it is wrong.

It seems that it happens on weekend, when the staff is at home? :D
It gets paging then clicking on previous or next do nothing then clicking on again do the paging but a whole page (12) are skipped and not shown.
Also on IE the paging on what happened page still not work.
So it's wrong on strip reply function (only the last 12 strips can be used as strip reply, tricking with tags and hacking the URL is the only workaround, but that's not user friendly I think)
Also left-right navigation tends to halt on some specific strip then it gets repaired themself (or not)
And on http://stripgenerator.com/strip/362854/neo-in-25-minutes/ this strip there is 12 strip replies but clicking on show all do nothing.
Also we are still waiting the remove strip reply function.
Library is top priority, I know but I do not think that the same persons do the flash programming and the ajax/web (php?) programming too. Or you have great polyhistor programmers on the board... These small errors can be fixed in hours I think.
Also strip embed function means more visit. More visit + adverts should mean more money.
