    I think that while creating a strip, there should be something you can click on to make your creation a silhouette for a shadow or something. Do you guys agree?

    Mask the item.
    Or like in my strip 'The Dark sword' create the silhouette by creating a template and filling it with shapes.

    But you can't make library items silhouettes, that's why I want a button that can make it a silhouette.

    Greg is right: You can mask a library item, but you can't use the library item as a mask.

    Copy the library item. move the copy off of the original, ungroup both copies, mask each piece of the copy separately placing each one in the right place over top of the original, then group your insanely over-complicated shadow. See, nothing to it.
