No, seriously, apart from showing you that the more active you are, the bigger the, well, achievement bar, there was nothing more that yellow stick did. Ok, it gave you fancy statues below your avatar, and that was it. No more.
From now on, achievement bar and therefore statuses unlock certain functionality on Stripgenerator. For example number of items you can put in your booklet. Number of items you can save to your library. Number of characters you can put into your fantastic comments. And so on. We admit, the list of all stuff is still not there for you to see, but it will be in future days. Overall, by being active on Stripgenerator you unlock certain stuff that make your life on comic creating community a bit more glorious :).
We also changed Featured Artist algorithm. We created a magical formula that takes these factors in consideration: votes received, comments received, strip likes received and author activity as well. We believe that this new formula will make the Featured Artist a bit more fair and a bit more relevant.
Also, from this day on, short comments no longer gain points. This barrier was introduced to curb potential spamming in order to collect points in a very easy way. Because of that, some of you will be seeing considerably lower score value on your achievement bars. We have not taken away your already deserved statues though. Sorry, but comments like LOL, wow, etc have reached endemic proportions.
Now, we go back to doing some more new and cool stuff. Strip away!

I really don´t think that this will curb the spamming... spammers will just write long nonsensical comments in stead... This is just punishing the wrong people... A comment is a comment to me.. most are short, but they still carry appreciation and should be valued!
I like everything else, but taking back points is an annoying part; especially for us who are close to getting to the next level... like 1500 points away from the highest status.
in short, we are no longer counting short comments as point-valid comments.
